Shoplifting Prevention
Shoplifting & Theft Prevention Classes
Court ordered shoplifting and theft prevention classes, taught in private 1-on-1 sessions so you can finish on your deadline. Address the impulse behind the incident and walk out with documentation your court will accept.
Shoplifting & Theft Prevention Classes
Most people who sit down for this class are not career criminals. They are people who made one bad decision in a moment of stress, impulse, or financial pressure, and are now facing a charge that threatens their record, their job, or a professional license. Courts, probation officers, and pretrial diversion programs often require a theft prevention class before they will close the case.
If you have been ordered to complete a class, tell us your deadline. It is your responsibility to know the terms of your order, so when in doubt, ask the person in charge of your case whether 1-on-1 or telehealth participation is accepted. We will help you pick the fastest path your court will accept.
What the class covers
A class that only lectures you about stealing does not change anything. This one starts with the why, because shoplifting is almost never about the item. It is about what was happening in your head in that moment.
Why it happened
the stress, impulse, anger, or pressure that led to the decision.
Impulse control
practical techniques to interrupt the moment between urge and action.
What a theft record actually costs
employment, housing, licensing, and how to keep one incident from following you for years.
Decision making under pressure
how to think through high risk moments before they happen again.
Accountability and moving forward
owning the decision without letting shame keep you stuck in it.
How sessions work
Classes are private and 1-on-1, not a group where you sit with strangers and hope nobody you know walks in. Sessions run in person at our Marietta office or by telehealth where your court allows it, and we schedule around your work hours and your deadline.
If your paperwork lists a required number of hours or a specific format, call us before you book and we will confirm it will be accepted.
What you receive when you finish
When you complete your class you receive a complete documentation package, signed and ready to submit to your court, probation officer, or attorney.
