Parenting Education
Parenting Education Classes
Parenting education classes for parents who are court ordered, referred by DFCS or an attorney, or simply want stronger tools at home. Taught through the same emotional regulation approach we use in every program.
Parenting Education Classes
Parents come to us from many directions. Some are ordered by a judge to complete a parenting class as part of a custody, divorce, or family court case. Some are referred by DFCS, a caseworker, or an attorney. Others sign up on their own because the stress at home has reached a point where yelling has replaced talking. Whatever brought you here, the goal is the same: leave with practical skills you can use at home the same day.
If a court or agency sent you, it is your responsibility to know the terms of your order. Tell us your deadline and any required hours and we will help you build a schedule that gets you done on time.
What the classes cover
Most parenting classes hand you a curriculum. Ours starts with the part other programs skip: your own emotions. A parent who can stay calm under pressure can use any technique. A parent who cannot will lose every standoff, no matter how good the script is.
Communication that lowers the temperature
how to talk and listen so small conflicts stop turning into blowups.
Discipline without escalation
limits and consequences that teach, instead of punishments that fuel resentment.
Managing your own emotions first
the same anger and stress management tools we teach in every program, applied to parenting.
Age appropriate expectations
what children can actually handle at each stage, so you stop fighting battles a child cannot win.
Co-parenting under strain
keeping conflict with the other parent away from the kids during separation, divorce, or custody disputes.
Rebuilding trust
repairing the relationship after conflict, absence, or a family court case.
How sessions work
Classes are taught 1-on-1, so the material is applied to your family and your situation, not read to a room from a binder. Sessions are available in person at our Marietta office or by telehealth where your case allows it, and we schedule around work and around your court or agency deadline.
If your paperwork lists specific requirements, call us before you book. We will confirm the format satisfies your order before you spend a dollar.
What you receive when you finish
When you complete your required sessions you receive a complete documentation package, signed and ready to submit to your court, caseworker, or attorney.
